Summer Fence Line

  • by

I pulled this stamp set out of the “Summer” box to decide whether I wanted to keep it or not. It’s been years since I used it. I found a design on Pinterest for inspiration, and set about creating a card. I’m usually not a fan nor particularly adept at using layering stamps or scene building. But I’m pretty happy with this (almost) one layer card. The stamp set went back in the box.

The scenery stamp is Summer Fence Line by Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from The Greetery’s Sentiment Suite: Birthday, always a favorite.

I die cut the panel with Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles and layered it on a dark brown card base.

I’m sending this off to the Paper Players where the challenge is: Beach Time, to Time Out: It’s Always Summer Somewhere; and The Four Seasons: Anything Goes Summer.

  1. This is AMAZING! You’d better keep this stamp…it may be challenging to do all those layers, but wow, what a fabulous effect! So happy you shared it with us at the Players this week!

  2. WOW – that is some really great two step stamping. You have a steady hand & good eye to line things up so perfectly. Your gull is so life like.

  3. You made the right choice to keep it, Karen, because you created a keeper of a scenic design! It’s impeccably composed and executed and brings back happy memories of our few days on the coast! Hugs, Darnell

  4. As you know, I’m no card maker so I have no idea how many stamps went to make this scene, or how many steps were needed, but I can well imagine it’s far more complicated than it might seem. The result is a lovely, atmospheric card. I can almost smell the seaweed!

  5. Karen, this is a wonderful beach scene! I too struggle with layeristamps so I’m quite impressed with your beautiful results. That gull is quite handsome and I love all the little details the stamps create – definitely a keeper set. Thank you so much for joining my beach themed challenge at The Paper Players this week!

  6. Wow! An absolutely stunning card! What a perfect job with layering the images! The gull on the post is amazing. I would definitely keep this set. Thank you for playing with The Paper Players this week!

  10. Oh I love this set and I’ve only used it a couple of times as well – glad it went back into your box – your design is wonderful – not worrying about sea or sky, but you can still smell the ocean when you look at it! Julia xx
