Strawberry Season

  • by

Strawberry season is one of my favorites. (Peach season comes close behind.) The strawberries didn’t last as long in Western New York this year due to a week of exceptionally high temperatures. Nonetheless, I pulled out The Greetery’s Botani-Cuts: Strawberries to make several birthday cards (all identical).

Strawberries

It’s a very CAS design. I started with the strawberry die cuts in white, coloring them with a variety of Pinkfresh Studio inks and finger daubers. Betsy Veldman of The Greetery often uses finger daubers, and I’m becoming a fan. Much quicker in this case than using a blending brush. Once that was completed, I die cut a Pinkfresh Studio Rounded Braided Rectangle from white and arranged the strawberries on it.

I added very small pieces of dimensional tape to the pretty blossoms, and stamped the sentiment from The Greetery’s Print Shop: Spring Mix before adding it to a white cardbase.

The Inspired By Challenge is Strawberries, so this is headed their way as well as to the Simply Clean and Simple Challenge.

  1. This is such a sweet card Karen … pun intended! 🙂 The strawberries didn’t last long here either, but because we had such a wet spring / start of summer. But we enjoyed as many as we could. 🙂 xx

  2. a berry-licious card. Your use of the finger daubers is masterful – I also like those over blending brushes.
We are just getting the tail end of fresh local strawberries – I was shocked at the price of even local strawberries & we didn’t have any season weather trauma to threaten the crop.

  3. Also red and green, but quite different of course! Very cheerful for a summer card. We are in strawberry season at the moment. I’ve bought a few – and of course it is the signature snack for Wimbledon (even if that felt more like an autumn tournament this year, with all the rain and wind!).
