I’m a huge fan of zinnias. We started some from seed this year, and they are finally beginning to bloom. This bright and happy yellow zinnia is a bit bigger than mine right now, and is appropriately titled Big Blooms: Zinnia (Papertrey Ink). A friend gave me the bloom and when I saw the current Just Us Girls Challenge: Die Cut Florals, I knew it was time to get it on a card.
I started by die cutting the background with Papertrey Ink’s Border Bling: Tin Stitched. It was also a perfect time to use Papertrey Ink’s Alluring Brackets, another product finally out of the NBUS box.
The leaves were die cut and embossed with Concord & 9th’s Paper Posies and the sentiment is from Memory Box.
This is also the week for Dies with Darnell’s I.D.E.A.S.
What a sweet zinnia die this is, darn you, Karen, lol! I love the petals and the colors you used and that wonderful fancy-stitched pad behind it. The textured cover plate was a great choice! Thank you for using this week’s I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and linking in the gallery there and at NBUS to motivate others!📌(I’d love to see a photo of baby zinnia in your garden when it grows up!) Hugs, Darnell
A lovely & cheerful card. I like the size of these floral die. Zinnias are such cheerful flowers & can be quite rewarding to plant as they look lovely in the gardens for weeks & last a long time as cut flowers.
Bright, Happy & Beautiful. Love your big Zinnia done in yellow. Lovely background to showcase it.
Karen… your zinnia is so clean and lovely! Great layering and layout. Thanks so much for sharing this gem with Just Us Girls.
How fabulous is your flower dye cut I love that. Thanks for joining in at JUGS
Love your background layers! I’ve been thinking I need to use my neglected Tin Stitch die! As I said on IG–that flower really makes a statement!
What a big beautiful flower, Karen! The background detail adds so much interest without stealing from the glory of that flower!
