Last week a group of us got together for lunch and a bit of crafting afterwards. I had just received my June order from Papertrey Ink so I die cut a couple sets of hexagons with the Happy Hexagon Cover Plate and went to town stamping them with different colors of ink. I had a lot of fun putting together the cards once I was done.
The sentiment is from We Go Together and the twine is from Papertrey Ink as well. Once I saw this photograph I realized I needed to put some dimensional tape behind the hexagon that covers the twine. It looks better now!
For this card, I added some Paper Source ribbon and stamped the outside and inside sentiments with Impress stamps I’ve had for years.
On this card, I used the cover plate, a tag cut with one of the Half and Half dies, and embossed the birthday greeting (Inside and Out: Birthday). Then I stamped the focal point with the Lovely Layers dies and stamps. I think these set will get a lot of use!
Love you hex set – just beautiful!
The hexagons look like great fun,Karen.
Oh these are beautiful, Karen! I love the hexagons! bought the cover plate and the stamp set, but have yet to use them, ack, lol!
Oh these are awesome, Karen. I love hexagons and have been eyeing them lately thinking of using fabric hexagons to applique on a bag. Love the colors you’ve used too!
Oh my, loving these!
These are such happy cards!
I love the first two – such different tones in the palettes you used, but both really eye-catching.
I just noticed “Canada” on your book shelf. It’s gotten great reviews, but my husband really didn’t care for it much. Curious to hear what you thought – I think it would be great if you do a book review post now and then, as you are such an avid reader.

What beautiful cards! I really need a hexagon die now! I especially like the second card …
They are all beautiful Karen but the last would be my favourite. The colours are amazing and the hexagon plate over the red – brilliant.
Hi,
I really liked Canada. Its our book group book for August. Ive never read Richard Ford before. The writing is beautiful, and I liked the main character. There were times when I wished I wasnt reading a library copy because Im sure I would have underlined quite a few passages. That said, my husband is finding it just OK. There isnt a lot of action, but the plot pulled me right along. We have a couples book group so Ill be curious to see what the others think. Ill let you know.
Karen
