Back to the Crafting Table

  • by

It’s taken us a few days to adjust to the new time zone and get settled in on our routines at home. It was a fabulous two weeks in Oregon, and there’ll be more to share here soon. But almost as soon as we got home I needed a “quick recovery” card for my sister-in-law who suddenly needed a pacemaker implanted. The surgery was yesterday, and she’s due home today. I took the opportunity to combine two challenges:  The Embellish Bicycle Color Challenge, and the most recent Retro Sketch Challenge. I rotated the sketch to fit my image.

2Challenges

And here’s my take on them. The inside message reads: Hope the road to recovery is short.

FeelBetter

Supplies:  Memory Box card; patterned paper:  Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky (MME); stamps: bicycle (Hero Arts), sentiment (Papertrey Ink); twine (Divine Twine); cloud die (Papertrey Ink); washi tape (Studio Calico kit)

  1. I love that card 🙂 I have a thing about bicycles after walking around Cambridge and Oxford where we saw them everywhere. I love the sentiment you used too 🙂 xx

  2. A gorgeously bright card Karen, your sister in law couldn’t fail to feel a bit more cheerful after seeing it.
I didn’t get to comment on your post with photos from Washington, but they were wonderful, my husband particularly liked them – architecture, gardens etc. You eye for composition is just getting better and better.

  3. What a great card! I love the image and the baker’s twine. I was planning an art day today but got caught up in some work instead. Oh well, I think I will have a scrappy weekend.

  4. That’s a perfect sentiment and image for a card! Pacemakers are miracl workers, there’s no doubt about it.
It’s good to see your blog pop up again in my Reader

  5. Hi Karen ~ I LOVE the colors in that adorable card, and I hope your SIL is doing well. I had to come on over to your blog when I got your comment about how many photos you’d taken of Caleb. You did not disappoint, my friend! He is an absolutely gorgeous child, and your photos are so awesome. You can see the love and admiration that the people in his life have for him. What a lucky, lucky boy he is!

  6. Hi Karen! I’m trying to catch up reading, lol. I love your bicycle card design! I’m sorry about your SIL – hope she recovers quickly.
