Today is my BIL’s birthday. Greg was the lead guitar and song writer for a very popular band in the 60’s and 70’s and still participates in the music scene in Austin, TX. Music was one of the biggest reasons (in addition to the weather) that he decided to move to Texas a few years ago.
I had a lot of fun making his card this year, and tried a lot of new and unusual techniques for me: stenciling (the dots), misting, background stamping, and tearing. The guitar has a coat of Glossy Accents on it though it’s a bit hard to see here. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out, and I hope Greg likes it.
The stamps are Boy Basics: Simple Circles and Rock On by Papertrey Ink.
I love this card,Karen…the distressed look to it is great…and it sounds like it’s perfect for your BIL.
OMG, Karen, I so totally love this! Male card perfection! Greg will love it and I’m glad you enjoyed getting messy ;P I also want to thank you so much for the beautiful birthday card! So thoughtful of you! I am happy I gained our friendship through the “now dead” PTI blog group, lol. Your creations and your photos are so inspiring! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Oh he is sure to love it Karen, I certainly do. It is so beautifully put together x
Wow Karen! What a great card! Love all the details…out of the norm works for you! 🙂
How very grungy of you!
Sorry I didn’t get back to you about your San Francisco stopover. I’ve been totally buried and have had trouble finding time to focus on anything other than the immediate task at hand.

That’s a fantastic masculine card. I love it. And you have got me intrigued – would we have heard of him over here?
