A Nativity Christmas Card

  • by

I set out last night to make two more Christmas cards and knew they could both be more religious in nature than most of my cards. I purchased the Stampin’ Up Peace to You set last year, but this is the first time I’ve used it. It was perfect for the recipients and I used the colors of the AAA Cards Challenge to use black, white and gold. That challenge ends in a few hours, so here is the second post of the day.

In keeping with the AAA Cards Clean & Simple design requirement (and always my preference) this is an easy card to mail. I did use some dimension behind the main panel, but decided to keep the card very simple and without embellishment.

Here you can see the gold frame easily, but the gold on the sentiment didn’t photograph well. The sentiment is one of many I’ve used this season from Memory Box: Black Tabs: Merry Christmas.

In addition to AAA Cards, I’m sending this off to CAS on Friday which is also a color challenge: Black, White and One Other Color. And, of course to NBUS because this stamp had never been used before!

  1. This is so lovely, classic and clean. The little gold band makes the whole thing shine …I like the dimensional aspect too, the way it floats on the page.

  2. Karen I love your nativity silhouette with just a hint of gold around the edge, it’s a perfect card for giving at this time of year and for playing along with us with the challenge at AAA Cards. Hope to catch you in another challenge soon.
    Seasons greetings.

  3. What a beautiful Christmas card! I love the design and how you have used the colours black, white and gold. Thank you for sharing and playing along with us at AAA Cards, hope to see you in future challenges too. Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

  4. A beautiful card. I wrestled about that stamp & in the end I did not get. The touch of gold takes the whole card up a level or two. Such clean stamping.

  5. I love nativity Christmas cards, and this one is lovely. Very smart (in the English sense – now I’m wondering what Americans say when they mean smart – as in smartly dressed. Not “clever”!)

  6. I think this nativity image is one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen, Karen, and I just love it stamped simply in black with the gold mat and sediment. Stunning! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Happily Holiday Hugs, Darnell
