Color Hues #115

  • by

Carol has chose one of my favorite color combinations for the new Color Hues Challenge:

CH #115 Pink and Grey.001

I knew almost immediately what I wanted to use for this card–Concord & 9th’s Triangle Background die. I die cut the background in white, and the triangles five times in Fresh Pink by The Stamp Market, Lovely Lady by Papertrey Ink, Fog and Slate by Simon Says, and Weathervane by Papertrey Ink. Lining them up on the background was easy once I decided on a pattern. Once they were all adhered, I die cut the panel with Gina K’s Master Layout #1 die which gave me a narrow border on the card base.

I added silver pearls to the intersections of the triangle for some added dimension and interest, and silver embossed the sentiment from Spellbinder’s Typewriter Adventure Sentiments.

This card is off to a friend for her birthday. She’s partial to graphic designs. In different colors, it would make a great masculine card as well.

I hope you’ll check out all the inspiration on the Color Hues blog by our talented Design Team and Guest Designer, Arlene, and join in the fun by creating a card for the challenge.

  1. What a lovely card – the pattern & colours remind me of a sweater. I think the design is definitely a keeper; I could see this as even a Christmas card design in reds, greens & golds, or blues & silver … oh so many ideas (col).

  2. It would have taken me forever to come up with an arrangement of colors that’s this pleasing, Karen! What a great card, my friend!

  3. I agree with Bonnie…it would have taken me ages to come up with a pattern, and then I would have doubted myself and started from scratch again…and again and again! You nailed it though Karen and what a perfect card for a birthday that’s not too girly but just right! LOVE it!! Hugs. :0)

  4. Striking, eye-catching and ever so creative! I LOVE your stylized triangles card, Karen! Thank you for making this colour combination shine!

  5. This is such a fabulous card, Karen! The pattern you created is very pleasing to the eye and the different shades of pink and gray give it so much interest. Indeed, I could see this as a great masculine card by changing the colors.
