We’ve finished all the “must do” items on our list before Sarah and Adam arrive tonight. They fly into Buffalo at 11:10 tonight. I hope they’re on time since Tracy and I were wide awade at 5:00 this morning. It’s only 8:00 their time so they’ll be chipper! 🙂
After exercise class this morning I got to work on three cards that needed to be made. The first is for my BIL & SIL’s anniversary tomorrow. Since they’ll be here for the family party on Thursday I’ll give it to them then. I saw the punched heart technique in a magazine I was browsing through at Barnes & Noble when we were keeping warm there on Saturday night, so I can’t give credit for it. The mat on the focal panel is actually green, but came out really dark in this photo.
Card base: Impress; patterned paper: Scenic Route and unknown scrap; sentiment: Saavy Stamps; heart gem: A Muse
The next is a sympathy card; the message is on the inside.
Cardstock: Select White and Sweet Blush Papertrey Ink; embossed cardstock: Creative Imaginations; flower dies: Papertrey Ink; pearls: Michael’s; silk ribbon purchased from Ellen Huston
Yesterday I got an early birthday gift from my friend, Mary, when we went out to lunch. It’s this beautiful berry bowl. I have nothing like it and navy blue, red, and yellow are my happy colors.
I had lots of fun making this thank you card for her.
Cardstock: Bo-Bunny & PTI New Leaf; patterned paper: Bitty Dots PTI; label and chipboard: Cosmo Cricket “Garden Variety;” alpha stickers: October Afternoon.
Here’s the inside of the card:
Patterned paper strip: Cosmo Cricket; alpha stickers: Adorn It.
A question for anyone who has a Typepad account. In my draft, all the images in this post are centered, but none of them are in the published version. Any ideas why?
Love the berry bowl and the top card is so lovely!
Rinda
What a lovely bowl! And gorgeous cards, as ever 🙂 (Can’t help you with the Typepad issues though, sorry – Blogger does the same to me sometimes if that’s any consolation!)
You were kind enough to ask about my pages in progress in a recent Project 365 photo – I haven’t quite finished them off yet, need to print the last couple of photos, but they will appear on my blog soon xx
All three cards are beautiful! I like you made the Thank you card to match your Birthday gift. Very clever!
Love your berry bowl and the cards are lovely too.
I love your ‘thank you’ card….it’s such a perfect match for the gorgeous bowl….what a lovely gift to get.
Gorgeous cards Karen. My fave is definitely the strawberry one – I love anything with strawberries on and the colours on this one really pop.
Hugs,
Caryn xxx
Wow, love all the cards but the top one . . . it looks like a card you *bought* at Barnes & Noble! Super! And I totally “get” the fun you must have had making your matching thank you card for that cute little berry bowl! Yes, what fun!
Karen the cards are all lovely but I’m particularly drawn to the sympathy card – the ribbon is beautiful. You are going to enjoy filling your new bowl – yummy, berries are all but gone now in Australia – such a pity!
Love that watercolor look on the first one…and that fun ribbon on the second….and more of that fun Cosmo Cricket paper that doesn’t get enough use over here – – pretty!!
I love that bowl! I have a bit of a thing for nice bowls. All of your cards are chic Karen, but the sympathy one is especially nice today..it’s so hard to find something suitable in the shops.
that is a pretty bowl! Love the cards too. The big bow on the second one is stunning!
Beautiful cards, Karen. Of course I love the colors of the first one (love green & pink together), but the second one draws me in – so elegant looking with the embossing, flowers and gorgeous bow.
Beautiful cards! I love the second one with the white blossom and satin ribbon.
Love your cards, Karen – especially the berry one . . . 😉
