I took a variety of images to watercolor while we were away, and as usual, not much got done. I did, however, get these beautiful images from Altenew’s “Magnolia Ballerina” finished.
They don’t need much embellishment, and take up an A2 card front. The images are actually larger than this and I’ve seen them cut down in a variety of ways. I used a photo of the magnolias in Highland Park for my color inspiration, and used Zig Watercolor markers which are great for travel.
I added a pink frame on top of the image cut from My Favorite Things “A2 Rectangle Frame” set. The sentiment is from my favorite The Ton “Easy Expressions: Birthday” set. The final touch was to add three clear sequins.
I’m sending this one off to the AAA Birthday Challenge (Flowers) and Seize the Birthday where the challenge is to use a favorite technique. Watercolor is definitely that for me.
I saw some of these blooming on my walk this morning … what a lovely illustration for a card!
Beautiful card, you have done a perfect job of watercolouring the flowers.
Good morning Karen, Hope all is well with you! Sorry I am a bit late popping by! What I love best about this card is that the image itself is so large and pretty that it only needs subtle coloring which you have done perfectly! I always bring things to color on vacation and they generally never leave the suitcase. LOL. Beautiful Birthday card! Thanks for joining us at Seize the Birthday!
Absolutely stunning! This pared down style of card is just my cup of tea, love it! Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Stay safe & keep crafting!
What a stunning card and love the shade you’ve coloured it
