We had a brief, two day, taste of Spring this week, and it was wonderful. Today is sunny, but cold and windy again. Pretty typical for March. There are several challenges out there calling for Spring cards, so I pulled out of my NBUS box a stamp and die set, “Blooms and Buds” by Reverse Confetti that I’ve had for way too long. It almost got put into the “Donated” bag last week, but I’m glad I pulled out. Sometime guilt works well . . .
I started with a sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches:
After stamping and die cutting, I arranged my flowers in the lower left-hand corner of a piece of white cardstock, but it felt too plain so decided to run it through my die cut machine with a Taylored Expression embossing folder. That’s the Trend Challenge for Just Us Girls this week:
I rounded the corners of the floral piece as well as an orange Memory Box card before putting them together. The last touch was to add a sentiment strip from Pink and Main and some tiny pearls to the center of the flowers.
The Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge is Spring as is the challenge at CAS on Friday. Sending this card their way as well.
You have such a knack for making your cards pop. Love this one – it exudes sunshine.
Those sunny colours are definitely a nod to spring and I love the addition of the embossing to your white panel for added detail and interest. Beautiful! Thanks for playing along with us over at CAS Colours & Sketches this week!
I think the embossing really gives this lovely card added interest!
The rounded corners are perfect with the edges of the flower petals and leaves. We too got a taste of spring like weather and then bam, it was gone.
I love those fun flowers placed against that embossed background (great choice of folders). The rounded corners look fabulous. A real sunshiny, feel good card! Thanks for playing along with us at JUGS!
Your lovely vibrant colours are perfect for spring. Thanks for joining us at CAS on Friday. Cheers, Kerry
I like your card & I really liked yesterday’s purple card. I just recently pulled out my embossing folders, thanks for that reminder to use.
When I saw the sketch, I thought “Wow, that’s a challenge”, but of course you rose to it perfectly! Those colours are such a welcome breath of warmth (we’re in a cold March phase here) and brightness.
Such a bright and happy card…something us girls absolutely enjoy! I do love your embossed background and the rounded corners. Thanks so much for joining us this week at CC&S
Well done, Karen! Embossing your background added just the right amount of interest while
still leaving your design CASlicious and creating a perfect take on the sketch challenge! I’m
glad you saved the set from the donate pile because it looks fabulous! Thank you for sharing
with everyone at NBUS! Take care! Hugs, Darnell
What a breath of Spring your bright and beautiful card is, Karen. Thanks for sharing it with us at Just Us Girls.
This is lovely Karen! I struggle with getting orange to either photograph well or use it well in any of my cards. This set was a great save from the donate pile! Thanks for joining us at Just Us Girls.
This is so fresh!!! I love the cheery colors of this card. Thank you for playing along with CC&S challenge.
