A New Masculine Birthday Card

  • by

We’re in Wisconsin for a few days. It’s always good to be visiting family, but Sunday was a rude awakening–snow, ending up with nearly 2″ of the white stuff. Meanwhile, back in Rochester it was 60°+.

The day before we left, I squeezed in a little time to make a birthday card for my brother-in-law. The main foiled pattern, Pinkfresh Studio’s Abstract Triangles, had already been foiled, so it was pretty quick and easy once I settled on the design.

I did manage to put another NBUS die to use: My Favorite Things: Stitched Diamond STAX. Recently, I spent some time hot foiling lots of sentiments, so the Happy Birthday from Spellbinders, You Are Everything, was also ready to add to the diamond die cut.

I love this design–elegant, but simple, and another great card for a guy. I’m quite sure I’ll use the design again. No additional embellishment was needed.

The card is off to three challenges and Darnell’s NBUS site. AAA Birthday Challenge is looking for Masculine Cards, Addicted to Stamps and More: Birthday Cards, and I’ll add it to Seize the Birthday’s Anything Goes category.

  1. Amazing card, it has a strong flow to it – my first thought was it has a strong jaw line. I am sure your BiL will be pleased with his card. I’ve been asked to make some,”not floral” birthday cards for the male birthday card stash at church, this design gives me a jumping off point to CASE.

  2. This is so cool!!! And elegant. And perfectly masculine. Love it Karen! Thanks so much for playing with Seize the Birthday — Jules

  3. I don’t think anyone I know can make masculines cards better than you, Karen! This is outstanding and at first glance at the thumbnail I thought they were paper airplanes as I was thinking about our Topping at Seize the Birthday. LOL. Thanks for joining us!

  4. So stylish and very original. Love it! Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Stay safe and keep crafting!

  5. This is very elegant, Karen, and perfect for a guy! I love the gold foil on the black and the stitched diamond is a great way to add a sentiment!

  6. Great design – love the black and gold combination.
Thanks for joining us at the AAA Birthday Challenge.
