Featuring Gina K Designs

The Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is “Anything Goes.” There’s always a product focus on these challenges, and I don’t usually have anything to share. This time it is Gina K Designs. The warehouse and very lovely retail store are located in Greendale, WI, about 35 minutes from Sarah’s. A good friend of mine’s sister also lives near there, and Nancy and I got together for lunch during our early March visit. Afterwards I made a stop at Village Paper and Ink. I didn’t buy a lot, but I did pick up two small stamp sets. I used one to watercolor these hydrangeas from Heartfelt Hydrangea when we were at Sarah’s. Since we’ve returned, I needed a sympathy card, and these seemed appropriate.

Prayer

Since the image was already watercolored, it was just a matter of choosing a card. I had both a purple and a dark navy Memory Box card, and the navy looked much better than the shade of purple I had. Having added blue to to the flowers, this worked out fine.

The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set, Sending You Comfort.  In addition to the Simon Says challenge, I’m entering this one in the Time Out Challenge: Purple as well.

The weather today is wild. To avoid the predicted rain, we took our walk around noon today following our church’s worship service on You Tube. Just as we came home, the sun came out, and less that 15 minutes ago, I went out on the patio to see if it were warm enough in the sun to spend some time out there. It was too breezy for me, so I came in. Tracy, however, went out to do some yard work. In less than 10 minutes, it started to pour. Blue skies vanished immediately! It’s the beginning of a cold front—a drop from near 70° today to the 40’s tomorrow. Ahh, March!

  1. A million (ok, really more like 10-12) years ago, my sister, SIL and I were BIG TIME into Stampin’ Up. We belonged to a monthly club with about ten other gals and a fabulously inspirational SU “coach”. We made ALL the cards and other things. …and then our coach moved away, we got another one, and then she moved away … and when we moved into this house in 2012, I gave away nearly EVERYTHING I had. I never had the talent you show to create something from scratch, but I did enjoy creating from a template. and I still very much enjoy seeing what others create. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely creations … and reminding me of the fun times I shared with my gals …way back when!

  2. What a beautiful card. Sorry that you had the occasion to need it. “Lifting you in prayer …” perfect sentiment.
I like Gina K’s stamp sets & my scrapbook store now cares & they are doing online orders for curbside pick up – I may just have a look. This hydrangea set will be extra special because of the time with a friend when you bought.
Wasn’t that a wild weather day on Sunday, black skies, thunder, heavy rains, almighty winds, then in moments sunshine & then a return to black skies, rain, etc. Maybe nature’s way of clearing out the germ filled environment.

  3. Such a lovely card … The navy picks up the centre of those hydrangeas perfectly. I am sure it will be much appreciated. Gosh, that does sound wild; though we have our own version over here with a grey skies, temperature of 40F, a biting north wind and the odd flurry of snowflakes. Spring is self-isolating.

  4. I just keep saying, at least it’s not snowing! We seem to have entered “April showers” a bit early this year.

  5. Good weather to be inside and crafting! Love how the blue in the hydrangea is pulled out with the card front! You have an artist’s eye.

  6. Beautiful CAS card, the flower really pops from the white base. Love the beautiful simplicity of this. Thank you for joining our Purple for Epilepsy Awareness/Friendship challenge at Time Out!

  7. I’m so envious of your craft store visits. We have none where I live (small town) and only around 8 nationwide (New Zealand). I dream of walking into a store one day filled with stamp sets, inks, dies and spending up a storm!! Your card is so eye-catching in the Gallery, the flowers are beautifully coloured. And having such a CAS design really makes them the star. Always wonderful to see you at TIME OUT and please stay safe!!

  8. Lovely card…your flower is amazing just like your coloring, gorgeous! Thank you so much for playing along with us at Time Out!
