I’m back again this week to participate in Mary-Lou’s Take Three Thursday where she encourages us to be mindful of what we see each week. It’s hard to miss these beauties. Our “Christmas” cacti are in full bloom. Although the outdoor foliage is later than usual, our cacti (which always bloom around Thanksgiving) are earlier than usual. They’ve never been true Christmas cacti. I’m adding two extra photos today of close-ups of two of the cacti.
It’s been very windy here the last two days, and the leaves are falling like crazy. We’re going to need a lot of indoor color like this very soon!
Karen so glad you joined in today with these gorgeous photos of the Christmas cacti. I use to have one that timed itself perfectly to Christmas blooming – cats caused its demise. It was an original cutting from a huge plant that when taken by my Mom in 1970, the plant was already 50 years old. Yours are so very healthy looking. I think I like the two tone one best.
Those are gorgeous! This house has enough light that I’ve decided I’m going to buy some more houseplants – thanks for the inspiration and reminder.
Lovely. I have inherited from my late mother in law two Christmas cacti which are in flower at the moment. They are nothing like as big as yours and I do like the white tipped one.
What pretty colors! I miss my Christmas cactus. Your white blooms are in a Nantucket basket exactly like one that I own!
My christmas cactus (and I checked and it is, according to leaf shape) tends to bloom around Thanksgiving and again around Easter. Might be late this year as I haven’t seen buds yet. Mine started as a cutting from my Mom’s plant. I’ve since done cuttings for my sister too.
