There are three gift shops in small towns east of Rochester that I visit at the change of each season. Today was the Fall Open House for two of the shops, so having a free morning, I took a little drive. I found nothing of interest at my favorite shop in Palmyra, but picked up a few fall decorations at the second shop. On my way back to Rochester, I stopped in Macedon to take some photos for Sandie’s Five in Five meme: five photos taken within five minutes. It was easy to do because they have lots of outdoor decorations. Perhaps I should have stayed outside, but I decided to take a look inside as well. It was very crowded, but I joined the long line at the check-out to purchase a new fall wreath for the front door and a beautiful handmade wool felt pillow for the living room. I’ll share those when the fall decorating gets done. For now, here are five photos from the Main Street Trading Company to get you in the mood for fall.
I spotted the pick-up truck on my way out to Palmyra, and knew I’d be stopping for some photos on my way home.
The trip put me in the mood to switch out the summer decorations for the fall ones, but first I need to finish a major purge and reorganization of my crafting space/office which I started yesterday.
What a temptation! I can see why you couldn’t resist…I’d be oh.so.tempted. too! Look forward to seeing your new purchases…and perhaps a peek at your newly purged/reorganized craft studio! Love the “Back to School” card you made Caleb …it’s a real treasure! Maybe next year, I’ll have the where-with-all to make one for Chris.
Cheers~
You just don’t see stuff like that around here! I am getting very worried about my pumpkins. One of the plants finally has a little gourd on it, which seems to have taken, but seriously – how much chance does it have of swelling and ripening before the frost? :o(
What a wonderful display Karen, and no wonder you had to stop! I look forward to seeing your own house decorated, we don’t do that so much in the UK though Halloween is growing in popularity and merchandise. Thanks for taking part in this months 5in5. I enjoyed seeing the wonderful pick up truck and collection of pumpkins.
Oh they are great and so colourful. It takes me back to when we grew pumpkins. I used to love to see them all stacked on the trailer. They were a must fo a photo.
Very nice display – I like the blues with the oranges. I’m hanging on to summer before I have to give it up … the nights are certainly cooler.
Enjoyed this group of photos. In fact, your photo posts capture my attention with equal interest as your paper crafting ones. You have a keen eye and excellent design sense. We’re into fall here, dropped under 50 at night for the first time in a long while.
