Catch up

  • by

Two catch-up photos for HS: MS prompts.

Three: One, two…three. Somewhere there is ‘three’ in your space today! These three stars sit on my window sill all year. The evergreens only for the winter.

Tube:  A hollow, usually cylindrical body of metal, glass or plastic used
especially for conveying or containing liquids or gases. You have
tubes, right?

I do indeed. More than I need, I’m sure.

The Movies

Three posts in one day is a recent record for blogging. Don’t know that I’ve ever done three! And the number of movies we’ve seen recently is also record-breaking. Since New Year’s Eve I’ve seen six. Some years that would be the total for the year, since we are not big movie-goers. Last night we went to a double feature at our local cinema. We watched "Enchanted" (lots of fun) and then "P.S. I Love You," a soppy romance that required the use of many a Kleenex. They were fun, but not any where as good as the first four we saw. "The Kite Runner" was my favorite. I was a little reluctant to go because of the violence in the book, but the movie was very tastefully done, and I only had to look away twice. It’s a beautiful movie and true to the book. I also loved "Charlie Wilson’s War" and "Atonement." We saw "Juno" as well. I think the previews are funnier than the movie itself, so it ended up being a little disappointing. Next on our list:  "The Bucket List."

SOS on HS:MS

  • by

I got behind with HS: MS this week. I was sick, and we were out of town for a wedding. But here’s my SOS, taken in my kitchen window this morning. Two weeks of flower photos, but we’re so desperate for color here by the end of January.

Overlooked #1

  • by

Here’s my layout for the first Overlooked challenge. I totally forgot the part about adding a coffee ring, and am afraid I’ll ruin this effort if I go back now. The best part for me is this is a three week challenge–one piece each week. Very doable and it fits right in with Project 365.

Ring

  • by

HS: MS prompt:  Ring-A circular shape, pattern or marking. Mine is a bit of a different take although the circle is certainly there. Tracy’s grandmother taught in a one-room schoolhouse and this is the bell she used to call the children in from recess.

Keeping up with Project 365 (see Photo-a-Day in the sidebar) is a little harder than I expected. When you leave in the dark and come home in the dark, opportunities for photos decrease significantly. This photo is one I took of the tulips on our kitchen table this week.

It’s Self-portrait Saturday again. I actually took this yesterday in an attempt to get a photo of my earring dangling. That didn’t work, but it’s a self-portrait I can live with.

I keep a few necklaces on this little pegboard next to my dresser–ones that don’t tarnish!

Away

  • by

Today’s HS:MS prompt:  Away To go at a distance from a specified thing, place or person. This is a bit of a cheat because it’s a photo from September, but one of my favorites, and perfect for the prompt. No one going away here today. Would be lovely to see this blue sky again as well!

CDs

CDs are the photo challenge at HS: MS. Lots of them at this house. These are on shelves from Ikea in my study.

SOS on HS:MS

It’s SOS time. These are glass flowers from the Harvard University collection that were on exhibit at the Corning Museum of Glass. The photo was taken through a glass display case, but I still like how it came out. You can read more about the glass flowers and the exhibit here.

Self-Portrait Saturday

Not my favorite activity. Sarah’s post gave the idea to mess around with some filters, but I ended up liking this best as is.
