Sheri’s pick for this Color Hues Challenge came at a great time for me. Red and Green called out Christmas, and my stash of Christmas cards is very small.
In keeping with my goal of using NBUS, I pulled out Pinkfresh Studio’s hot foil plate, stencil, and die cut for the Winter Berries Frame purchased months ago and went to town. The first card is my fave and the one I posted on the Color Hues Challenge site, but there are four more cards as well. I challenged myself to try a different design for each of the cards.
This is the only card where I didn’t use the die. I’ve always love the Savvy Joy die cut and use it almost every Christmas. I used the stencil and two shades of green and red to color the berries. I stenciled enough panels for all the cards first, and actually have quite a few left over.
The closer view shows the beautiful hot foil and the pretty gold sentiment.
For the rest of the cards, I’ll just list the additional products used for the card.
black & gold mirror cardstock, Pinkfresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Circles, Spellbinders Betterpress Fancy Sentiment Strip & die (foiled in gold), PFS gold pearls
a premade embossed square card, PFS Perfect Sentiments: Holiday (foiled in gold), PFS Gold Glitter dots
Gina K embossing folder Tapestry, Ellen Hutson Essential Arches die, PFS Perfect Sentiments: Holiday, PFS scarlet clear drops
PFS Basic Banners: Christmas, The Paper Studio gold pearls
It’s not just Christmas on the Color Hues Challenge board although I’m not the only one to add to their stash of holiday cards. Please hop over and take a look at the great designs of our Guest Designer, Rosemary, and our Design Team.
Some of these cards are off to two additional challenges: Addicted to Stamps and More: Christmas, the Christmas Kickstart Challenge: Festive Frames (which I’d better continue to play with!) and NBUS for the berry frame.
All I can say is wow, and maybe a gorgeous! The Winterberry frame is stunning with the Joy in the middle. Just like you I always check out what you are using and add it to my wish list! Beautiful as always my friend!
I finished my comments prematurely! Your other four cards are so gorgeous Karen, those berries are so versatile and I love how you used them in the other 4 instances!!It’s always a great idea to make serveral cards once you have your supplies out!
Four fab Christmas makes Karen, love the hint of gold you’ve got with the foiling. I mainly have sentiment plates but maybe I might have to add this beauty to my wish list!:)
Oh my goodness! You have five great Christmas cards here, Karen! Such a productive day! I am off to look up that PFS hot foil plate. You will certainly inspire many with these. Well done!
WOW, WOW, WOW!!! You sure nailed the red & green challenge Karen! ALL of your cards are absolutely BEAUTIFUL and am totally loving all the different designs you came up with using this set! That gold foiling sure is pretty with the red & green too! I can’t even pick a favorite as they’re all so pretty! Awesome job my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Beautiful cards. Considering all the Christmas cards you send, you are getting a head of the game. The Joy die is one of my favourites & I use all year. I like the Gina K embossing tapestry embossing folder – gives a wonderful depth to the card.
All are absolutely beautiful Christmas cards, Karen! I do love the Joy sentiment surrounded by the winterberries but I also love the card with the arch and the tapestry embossed design on the interior. Well done adding a few more to your holiday card stash, I need to get to work on mine as well.
They are all lovely of course, but my favourite is the “Deck the Halls”, followed by the “Merry and Bright”. You must have been so satisfied to make headway on the stash after being inspired like that.
Wow!!! Look at you go!! These are all fabulous. I really need to pull out my Glimmer and use it much more often.
I love all your cards, Karen! The one with the arch and embossed bg may be my favorite! Look for that one to be cased!
WOW! You’ve created an array of gorgeous cards – and have certainly showcased the versatility of the products used. I’m off to see if any Canadian retailers have this plate…thank you for the inspiration (and enabling!).
hugs~carol
