For the first time ever, Sarah and Adam won’t be here for Christmas. I am grateful that it took 29 years before it happened, but I know I am really going to miss them at Christmas. Tonight I got all the gifts wrapped, and one box packed and ready to mail tomorrow. These are the gift card holders I made this afternoon to put in their stockings (one for Matt, too). The cardstock is Scarlet Jewel (Papertrey), the ribbon from Paper Source and all the rest is Making Memories Mistletoe collection. The gift card holder was one Kristina Werner posted on 2Peas last year. I’ve made lots and lots of them since I first downloaded the pattern. It’s quick and easy.
I was devastated the first year I was away from home at Christmas. We have to alternate each year due to distance – but always travel on Boxing Day so it’s not too bad.
They’re beautiful. I give lots of giftcards but have never made a gift card holder. I tend to tuck them into a box of handmade cards, so it feels like I’m giving something. Your holders definitely serve the same purpose!

I love the way your gift cards turned out, the scarlet jewel card is such a lovely rich colour and the MM papers are really fun! I’ve never thought of making gift cards myself, will have to see if the pattern is still available.
Your blog is becoming one of the best of my favorites!! I love everything about it!!! And I love those adorable Gift Card holders. I bought Starbuck’s cards (the personalized ones… soooo cute) for St Nick’s Night for Wendy & Darin and Kristin. I need to get them in the mail but I think I’ll take the time to make card holders today. Have to figure out a template and then create! Thanks so much for sharing yours Karen! You are so inspiring!!

I absolutely love these. I’ve bookmarked to come back to this post so I can make a few this year. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Lovely gift card holders, don’t you love Kristina Werner? She’s great.
I can totally imagine how you feel, my sister is dreading the day when her two sons (24 & 26) stop coming home for Christmas.
Karen – love these. Where can I get the pattern/instructions? I followed the Kristina link but didn’t see the pattern. Thanks for sharing!
Karen – I went on Two Peas and found it! Thanks again for sharing this – now I can make those “easy” gifts a little more special.
I just linked to the 2Peas site after sending several people the links. Why I didn’t do it when I wrote the post, I’ll never know!
