I was away for the first four days of Shimelle’s class, and it will take awhile to catch up. It was a lovely morning here and rain was forecast for later (and did, indeed, arrive) so I decided I should get the outside photo prompt of florals done. My Shasta daisies are beautiful right now so I decided to work with them. Shimelle suggested taking the photos from different angles and perspectives so that’s what I tried to do. None of the photos were altered in PSE except to sharpen them. All were taken with my 50mm 1.4 lens. I’m including the aperture settings for my friend, Nancy, since she and I had a discussion about them earlier today. As always, I’d be interested in hearing which ones you like the best. Here are eight of them in no particular order:
1. f/1.8
2. f/8.0
3. Having the bee arrive was truly a lucky accident! f/8.0
4. f/1.8
5. f/6.3
6. f/8.0
7. f/1.8
8. f/2.2
I enjoyed all… love shastas… my favorite is the first. The warm color in the background adds interest to the composition. Well done!
They’re all wonderful. #4 is my favourite. I did a daisy post on my blog, too. They’re my all-time bestest ever wildflower!!!
Absolutely gorgeous. My favourite photo is the last one! love it.
Love 1, 6 and 8 the best – I guess that tells me something about my fstop preferences.
Rinda
Gorgeous photos.
1,3,5 & 8 are the standouts for me – I must like daisies photographed from the side!
I think I like the first one the best. My camera doesn’t go down as far as f/1.8 so I’m glad you labelled yours to let me see what a difference it makes.
Oh my, how to pick a favourite?! I love the first one but I like that the last, while similar, shows more of the flowers’ faces. Number 4 is also a gorgeous close up though xx
I love #3 the best (and would even without the bee) and #1 second. Which just goes to show that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder since everyone seems to have a different favorite!
Such gorgeous photos! I wish I could take photos like that.
Lovely, Karen! And what a happy accident to photograph that bee 🙂
I love the first one…such an unexpected angle of view
