One of the top items on our To Do list for this vacation was to visit The Ringling Museum. We spent the afternoon at the Circus Museum, and walked down to Ca’D’Zan, the Ringling mansion but never made it to the art museum which we know is fabulous. Obviously, we’ll need to come back to Sarasota another time to visit the art museum and go on the house tour.
I’ll have more on this excursion when I do my vacation recap, but on our walk from the Circus Museum to the mansion we passed a grove of banyan trees. They never fail to amaze me and I thought a look up and down (or more appropriately “high” and “low”) would make for a good pair for Helena’s meme.
And then we discovered this hiding among the roots of another banyan tree.
Off to check out the other Pairs at Helena’s.
Oh! this is fabulous Karen and I love the little sculpture hiding there.
I first thought the tree roots reminded me of chicken legs. The little person inside was perfect!
Love the little person in the roots!
Fascinating tree and what a good hiding place!
beautifully sculptural trees and what a surprise amongst the roots
Those trees are amazing, aren’t they?! And what a lovely surprise in the roots.
Oh my, what a discovery! He must have been ‘planted’ there quite a while ago, looking at those roots and trunks?
Amazing trees the sculpture is a lovely surprise.
What amazing trees …and well done for spotting the sculpture! Xx
I was just about to comment on how the “pairs” was so good at helping us spot details…and then I read down and discovered just what a beautiful detail you had found1
Wow what fantastic photos, Karen. I have always loved banyan trees myself, and that is the coolest thing to see that statue with the banyan growing around it!
I love the one looking up – I almost get vertigo, and the cherub is amazing.
