Although it was quite unexpected, I ended up with a new car today. It turned out I could move up to the nicest of the Subaru Foresters for less money/month than I was currently paying for my older Forester. It was a no brainer, and it’s the nicest car I’ve ever had. It’s also the very first car with automatic transmission. It’s going to be awhile before I stop thinking I should downshift when I come to a stop!
The dealership had some Valentine’s Day decorations on the windows, so it seemed like the perfect spot for the outside photo.
I’ve owned a Subaru for years, now. After the first winter with All-Wheel drive, I knew I’d never go back. I’ve also relied on the five-speed in bad weather as well, but Matt tells me I’ll have no problem. He moved to an automatic last year, since Betsy didn’t drive a standard transmission. It won’t be long before I’ll be able to test it out. More snow is on the way tomorrow. I hope there’s not too much because Sarah, Adam, and Caleb are headed here from Chicago tomorrow.
congrats on the new car! This is a pairing I would not of thought of…and I might steal it too!!!!!
I changed to an automatic last year because of my bad knee…..they are not so common in the UK….but now I’m used to it I love it.
I love that first sentence :). Here, these things seem to be months in the thinking, planning and doing! Crossing fingers about that snow forecast – and looking forward to some lovely photos of them all!
I can smell the new car smell from here – lovely and love those hearts. One of those trans Atlantic difference things – I did a double take when I looked at the seat on the right and there was no steering wheel!
ooo, lovely new car! I’ve driven an automatic for years now and wouldn’t want to go back to changing gears! Hope you don’t get more snow! Roll on Spring and warmer weather.
Congrats on the new car, hope you get used the automatic gears without too much trouble.
Karen I received my postcard today – thank you very much an interesting picture!
Oh, enjoy! I’m echoing Helena..I can smell that lovely new car smell from here
What a nice surprise and a very topical pairing.
Congrats on the new ride and how fun that it was an unexpected treat! Once you get used to the automatic, you’ll appreciate not having all the extra work for driving.
What a great idea for a Pair! How lovely to have a new car, especially so unexpected. I was thinking about you this morning because I have had notification that a parcel I ordered has been dispatched to me from Rochester NY and then through my letterbox came a birthday card from you! Your good intentions are now good deeds, my birthday is on Tuesday. Much love and Happy Valentines Day to you. Hope the family arrive safely.
Hope y’all are staying warm! I got my first automatic after Robbie & I married. Of course, it was easy to adapt as we don’t get the weather y’all do . . . but I sure miss the FUN of driving a standard! It’s not really practical with the traffic we have here though.
Ooh, nice car! And a perfect opportunity for Pairs.
