Pairs: Seek and Find

  • by

We’ve been home from Chicago for a couple of days, but didn’t leave until after church on Easter Sunday. Grandpa is the ultimate scavenger hunt creator for the Easter Bunny. Years ago, when our two kids were teenagers we were vacationing on Easter Sunday. I had taken Easter basket goodies with me and Tracy hid the baskets. When the kids got up, they wanted to know where the clues were. When Tracy told them we didn’t have a scavenger hunt this year, they sat down, and said, “We’ll wait!” So they did, and Tracy created a hunt for them.

Sarah and I found little bunny prints at Party City, and all the clues for Caleb were photographs of familiar places around the house. The hunt took him to several rooms, the pantry, and finally the basement where he found his Easter basket in the dryer.

After church, Sarah’s church hosted an Easter egg hunt. Caleb had a grand time.

As always, I’m linking up to Helena’s fine meme, Pairs. You can see the others right here.

  1. I love using photos for the scavenger hunt – he looks adorable all dressed up with his basket – I can imagine you with a big smile of your face all day

  2. That Caleb is a real cutie and he looks so grown up in his tie and sports jacket. Love the idea of using photos for clues…will share with my niece whose son is 10 months – for next year!
    Cheers~

  3. Ahhh, lovely! That final photo of him carrying the basket is very sweet – doesn’t he look grown up in his mini-adult blazer/jacket?

  4. This is so dang cute, Karen! The photos of Caleb are really sweet too. I love that Grandpa is continuing the tradition of the scavenger hunt, and what a great idea to use photos as clues for little ones who aren’t able to read yet.

  5. I love that last photo with the basket! Adorable! My church had a hunt afterwards. My family hid the eggs all over the churchyard. I think we had more fun hiding them than they did finding them!

  6. He is having a good time! I have used cryptic close up photo clues for my girls in the past all around the farm. Some can be surprisingly difficult!

  7. I love that he was able to create a hunt “on the hop” as we say round here! We used to do a scavenger hunt at Easter too..one year our two had miniature shopping carts which they pushed round Granny’s garden. Happy Days!

  8. Oh what a neat set of pairs. We like treasure hunts and have done an Easter Egg one several times at meeting. Wookie is very good at being tricky for the teenagers.
