I’ve had several projects go live on the Scrap-Mart blog, and I often forget to share them here as well.
Sadly the bumper crop of tomatoes has ended, and we need to get over to the garden this week to clean it out. Our investment in the Community Garden plot was returned many times over this summer–both the financial and time investments.
I love this “Autumn Blessings” stamp from Just-Rite. I colored it with Prisma colored pencils and then sponged some ink on the Scrap-Mart exclusive Nestability. It’s become one of my favorites. So many images seem to look good on it.
As usual, the layout looks a bit crooked in the photograph. I’ve been investigating some different options for photographing projects. Does anyone have a process (or product) that works for them? Our house is so dark I always need some artificial lighting. And I’d love to get more reliable results when taking photos of scrapbook pages that are too big to be scanned.
This layout uses new Jillibean papers from the Pasta Fagioli line which I love.
Fab layouts and card 🙂 I love the patterned paper scraps and buttons along the film strip!
I can never photograph my layouts straight. I’ve started propping them up on an easel and allowing just a bit of the background to show so that it doesn’t have to be perfectly straight!
Wonderful layouts,Karen…and how lovely to see all that you’ve made with the tomatoes.
My house is far too dark for photos….my layouts always look crooked….and I always have to photo edit to try and return them to something resembling the correct colour!!!!
Beautiful layouts, Karen! Love the photos and your cards, too!
I’m going down the same path as Mel – I’ve given up on getting a straight photo and let some background in – I got the idea from Sian a while ago when I noticed she was doing something similar. Yours actually look fine here on my screen.
I really like the photo collages in todays pages, I am drawn to a nice neat grouping of photos 🙂
Love the card especially! The colors are happy and bright, yet still autumnal. I also really love the border along the bottom of the layout.
I go one of two ways on layouts. One is to shoot it in a larger tableau, like Sian often does. Otherwise, I just go really old school and take a quick snapshot.

What a splendid crop :). You must have worked hard to get all this lot to grow, and love the way you’ve clustered the photos together for maximum effect. I have problems with photo-taking too – I’ve found that leaning over the edge of a table keeps my forearms steady with the Lo on the floor or on a chair beneath, and if I use the zoom rather than move in close, the photo isn’t bowed (not that yours is, I hasten to say!) but in case it’s a useful tip for someone else. I struggle with the light problem too – hence my growing love of digital for blogging.
What a great bunch of projects! They’re all making me hungry! LOL! I love food photography and you captured these so well. The pages and the card all show off Autumn’s bounty so very well.
