A couple of challenges motivated me to move another project out of my “Work on This” box which utilizes a NBUS product, the Hill Blossoms stencils and dies by Altenew. I don’t find using Altenew stencils to be as intuitive as those by Pinkfresh Studio, but once I got them placed correctly, they were very easy to color. I used my new one inch blending brushes from Pinkfresh, and they are truly a game changer.
I ended up making a mini-slimline card when I found the stitched and scalloped die cut in my box of premade treasures. I must have die cut them at a friend’s house, since I don’t own any dies quite like this one.
The sentiment is, once again, a Memory Box black tab. They work well on so many cards! I added some very tiny black pearls to the centers of the flowers, and then some clear drops as a final accent.
The challenges that inspired me were The Paper Players looking for Spring Flowers, Just Us Girls: Anything Goes: Stencils, and Neglected Stuff (this stencil has been in my box for months!). It’s also off to Darnell’s NBUS, and will link it up to her I.D.E.A.S. since this is the week for Ink (not a challenge per se.)
Oh such a pretty floral card – the little blue flowers remind me of forget me nots. The shading on the flowers & leaves show you’re an expert already with blending brushes.
I’m delighted to have you appear again in the NBUS challenge with this springtime beauty, Karen, and I hope you will also link on my home page to inspire others. I know we all have our own “Work on This” boxes (or storage units, lol!) and it’s encouraging to see you finish your schtuff into beautiful design!. But, goodness, you do enable me … I’m off to check out these game-changer brushes! Hugs, Darnell
Karen, this is lovely! I love slim line cards and your flowers are just gorgeous! The scalloped border adds so much detail! Thank you for making my challenge shine this week at The Paper Players!
Hill Blossoms is one of my all time favorite stencils and you’ve used such pretty colors on your card!

It’s nice when you can use up some of the bits from your workboxes, especially when it ends up so pretty! I like the mini-line format. The popped up flowers add a nice touch of height and the scalloped edging is very smart. Thanks for sharing this with us at The Paper Players.
Karen, I agree with you about the Pinkfresh stencils – they really do make it so easy. That being said, you rocked these Alenew flowers. I love the blue and the scalloped base adds to the soft feel. Gorgeous card. So glad you shared this with us at the Paper Players this week

It’s always great to use something out of those boxes, Karen. I love these blue flowers and the die cut background is feminine and perfect for showing off the flowers!
