I’m joining in with Mary-Lou at Patio Postcards for Take Three Thursday. I have three different shots of the same subject from our trip to the Chicago Botanic Garden. I loved the beautiful red vines twisted around the stone railing.
So I’d be curious to know which one you prefer.
Hi! I like them all but the middle one is my choice for the: color, shape, closeup, shadows . Very nice!
Cheers~
Me too – middle one. Light, colour, shadows, contrast all do it for me!
Glad you joined in Karen. Virginia Creeper does get some of the most intense reds in the Autumn. I think I will be with the crowd, I vote for photo #2.
Karen, I love all three and they each offer something great. The 3 on 3 idea is super. I look at photo one as a landscape, and would make a great choice for a photo essay, virginia creeper tumbling down from the quattrocento balustrade on to the red brick below…renaissance meets English garden. Love photo 2 for the light, shadow and focus on the architectural shape of the baluster. The negative space on one area of leaves, almost gives a hint of a star, starlike flower (white clematis). The last photo also offers a great opportunity for a story essay, highlighting the beauty of the natural and man made. You also have the contrast of the straight line of the top of the rail vs the softness of the leaves. You get the texture of the stone, shadow, and color. The leaves sitting on top of the railing give rise to the image of a feast on a table, abundance with the tumbling down. They are all beautiful, and would be lovely framed together. I think I am going to go with #3. Probably a much longer response than necessary and I hope you haven’t nodded off. Your photographs are not only beautiful, but they make me think and appreciate more. A great big thanks to you.
Wow! I find this trio so inspiring!
Thanks Karen!
Absolutely lovely Karen! I think my favourite is no 2 too!
I like all three, but the first one is my favorite as it gives a peek of the area, too!
