The Time Out Challenge is celebrating their 5th birthday. I’m late to the party, but just in time with a birthday card to celebrate.
I’m sharing another card with a watercolored panel I worked on while we were away. This time it’s Papertrey Ink’s “Peonies on Parade.”
The beautiful peonies were watercolored with Altenew’s 36 pan watercolor set.
I used a combination of pinks, orange, and reds and love the way the colors blend into one another using a wet-on-wet technique. The sentiment is from Papertrey’s “Penned Elegance.” The only embellishment was the addition of a few black pearls.
I did add a bit of dimension by using a black Glaze pen on the center of the peonies.
Your watercoloring is certainly being put to great use on these lovely cards!
You did an excellent blending of colours. The little black pearls lead the eye to the greeting & match with the flowers centre – a nice balance. I think edge stitching is fast becoming one of my favourite details on a card.
This is a beauty and the colours blend so well together. I love the little black sparkles in the middle. Thanks for joining Time Out
SO pretty – I love the subtle touches of orange and pink in your watercolouring and how you used the glaze pen to add that wonderful texture and shine to their centres. Beautiful card – thanks so much for joing our 5 year celebration at Time Out! Jill
